2015 Winter Events Round Up!

Tags: , ,

Despite the snow, Papercut has kept very busy with events this winter! Here’s a recap of all of the ziney fun and some events to look out for this month:

In December we had our annual POC Zine Project fundraiser, an event where we shared, swapped, and promoted zines by POC authors.

That same month, we also had a zine release and reading for a collab zine called “Heart & Home.” This event was a cookie swap and functioned as PZL’s annual holiday party. All of the proceeds for this event also went to the POC Zine Project.

All together, our December events raised over $130 for the POCZP!

As for upcoming events, on February 19th we’re having another zine release and reading for Liz: The Zine 3! The theme of the zine is “Why I’m here,” and it’s submission based. (You can email submissions of art, poetry, photography, short essays, and pretty much anything else that tickles your fancy to lizthezine@yahoo.com by February 4th!)

The Liz: The Zine 3 event will be a reading and potluck dinner, so bring your favorite comfort foods!

See y’all soon! Keep warm and stay in touch <3

Happy Friday the 13th- check out our new gardening mini-exhibit!

The queer zine mini-exhibit is down, and the weather is being freaking weird, but it is definitely gardening time and one of our newer librarians has set up a mini-exhibit featuring some of our gardening zines!

Don’t forget that Papercut is not only a fantastic resource for your gardening needs, we are now open on Fridays again! So drop on by Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 2-7!

You can also swing by to return your zines any time the Lorem Ipsum bookstore is open.

Hearts from your zine librarians!

Closed the weekend of 16th-17th

What's kraken?

Between our librarians’ exciting lives, the Easthampton Ladyfest, and the Boston Skillshare, there won’t be anyone holding down the library in Somerville.  So come check out the skillshare!  Our initiative brings you, once more, how to make zines! Or if you’re further West, go check out the Ladyfest– we’ll have a ziney presence there, too!

We open back up on Monday the 18th.

Changes to our MEETINGS

Tags: , ,

Our meetings will no longer be held weekly. If you were interested in getting involved and coming to a meeting, they will now be held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month! That means that we will not be having a meeting tonight, but we will still be open until 7.

We will not be open for library services OR our weekly meeting tomorrow, due to snow. Sorry for the inconvenience! If you need to return zines, you can put ‘em in the drop slot. Otherwise we’ll be back to normal on Saturday.

Take care and enjoy the snow!!!!
